Creative Hut Academy is a fully residential photography, cinematography and AI filmmaking college at Mattakkara, Kottayam, Kerala, founded in 2007. The website creativehut.org is operated by Creative Hut Education Pvt Ltd, supported by Alextern Education Pvt Ltd and the National Education And Research Foundation.
For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, Creative Hut Education Pvt Ltd is the data fiduciary for the information described on this page. If you are contacting us from the European Union or the United Kingdom, we act as the data controller under the GDPR.
This policy covers the website, admission enquiries made by phone, email and WhatsApp, and the records we hold for enrolled students.

What we collect
We only ask for what an admission, a campus visit or a support conversation actually needs. We never buy lists and we never sell your details.
You give us
Name, phone number, email, city and state, the course you are asking about, your qualification, and anything you write in an enquiry form or a WhatsApp message.
Admission records
Application forms, identity and qualification documents, guardian contact details, fee and payment records, and hostel and medical declarations for residential students.
Collected automatically
IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time on page, and the source that brought you here, gathered through analytics cookies.
Campus and coursework
Photographs and video of classes, shoots and events, and student work submitted for review, portfolio, exhibition or showreel use.
Payments
Payment status and reference numbers returned by our gateway. Card and bank details are handled by the gateway and are never stored on our servers.
What we never collect
We do not ask for caste, religion, political opinion or biometric data as part of admission, and we do not run automated profiling that decides your application.

How we use it
Every use below has a purpose you would expect from a college you have contacted.
- Replying to your enquiry by phone, email or WhatsApp, and sending the prospectus or fee structure you asked for.
- Processing an application, allotting a batch seat, arranging hostel accommodation and issuing certificates.
- Sending admission updates, batch start dates, workshop invitations and event news. You can stop these at any time.
- Improving the website, understanding which pages help people decide, and measuring our advertising.
- Keeping the campus safe and meeting our legal, accreditation and accounting obligations.
We rely on your consent for marketing messages and for non essential cookies, on contract for anything needed to deliver the course you enrolled in, and on legitimate interest for basic site security and aggregate analytics.

Photography and student work
A photography and film college documents itself constantly. Classes, shoots, workshops, screenings and campus life are photographed and filmed, and student work is shown in our portfolio, on social media, in exhibitions, in showreels and in press coverage.
Every student signs a consent form at admission covering this use. The consent names you, is specific about where the work may appear, and can be withdrawn.
- Your name stays credited on your own work unless you ask us to remove it.
- You may decline to appear in promotional photography without any effect on your course.
- Withdraw consent in writing and we remove the material from our own channels, and ask third parties to do the same where we can.
- Material already printed, broadcast or published by a third party may not be recallable, and we will tell you honestly when that is the case.

How long we keep it
We do not keep data forever. Each type has a defined life, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Where we are required to keep a record we do not delete it early, and where we no longer need it we do not keep it out of habit.

Your rights
Write to us and we will answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we do not hand your record to somebody else.
Access
Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Correction
Have anything wrong or out of date put right.
Erasure
Ask us to delete data we no longer need to keep.
Withdraw consent
Stop marketing messages or the use of your photograph.
Portability
Receive your data in a readable file to take elsewhere.
Complain
Raise it with us first, then with the Data Protection Board of India.

Students under 18
Applicants below 18 must have a parent or guardian complete the admission form and give consent for residential accommodation, photography and coursework publication.
We do not knowingly collect data from a child through the website without that consent, we do not track children for advertising, and we do not target advertising at them.
If you believe a minor has given us information without guardian consent, write to us and we will remove it.

Security and changes
The site runs over HTTPS. Access to admission records is limited to the staff who need it, payment details never reach our servers, and we keep backups and review access regularly. No system is perfect, and if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be announced on the site, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
Common questions
Privacy, answered quickly
Will I get marketing calls after one enquiry?
You will hear from an admission counsellor about the course you asked about. Tell us to stop and we stop, on the same channel you used to reach us.
Do you sell or share my number with anyone?
No. We never sell enquiry data and we never pass your number to another institution or agency.
Can I refuse to be photographed on campus?
Yes. Tell the faculty in charge and write to us, and we will keep you out of promotional photography and remove existing images from our own channels.
How do I get my data deleted?
Email us from the address you enquired with, or send the request from your registered phone number. We confirm your identity, then delete anything we are not legally required to retain.
Are cookies required to browse the site?
Only the strictly necessary group. You can block the rest and still read every page, apply, and contact us.
