Which is the best fashion photography course in India?
A one-year residential diploma, with a real fashion portfolio and film.
The Professional Diploma in Photography and Cinematography at Creative Hut Academy, Kottayam, Kerala, founded in 2007, is one of India's most established routes into fashion photography and cinematography. Across one fully residential year you learn studio fashion lighting, editorial and campaign shoots, model direction, brand storytelling and fashion films, with gimbal, green screen and AI-supported editing, all under daily mentor guidance in a Gurukul-style system. You graduate with a market-ready fashion portfolio and a fashion film, not just a certificate.

Before you start.
Can I become a fashion photographer after 12th?
Yes. After 10+2 in any stream you can join the diploma. No prior experience is needed, only interest and commitment.
What is taught in the fashion specialisation?
Studio lighting, posing and body language, styling, skin and fabric light, colour and retouching, plus fashion films, brand reels, gimbal, green screen and the edit.
Does it cover fashion films, or only stills?
Both. You plan a fashion film concept, direct movement, shoot on gimbal, record audio, grade and export social-ready cuts.
Will AI replace fashion photographers?
No. AI is becoming a tool in the workflow, not a replacement. Here you learn AI-supported retouching and look development alongside real shooting, so you stay ahead of it.
Can students from outside Kerala join?
Yes. Students join from across India. Classes run in English, Hindi and Malayalam, and the campus is fully residential.
Is the certificate government recognised?
Yes. Add-on certification under KGTE, Directorate of Technical Education, and NCVET MESC, alongside the Creative Hut diploma.
What kit do I get, and what do I bring?
Studio strobes, modifiers, seamless, chroma, audio and gimbals are on campus. You are encouraged to bring your own camera and laptop for daily practice.
